A Guide to Downloading Your Maui Photos

As a photographer, it may not surprise you that I’m a visual learner. For my clients, I always want to make sure the process to download photosis clear and easy. Below is a page-by-page guide to downloading galleries via Shootproof.

Once downloaded, make sure to store your photos in a safe and secure place like an external hard drive, cloud, or usb drive. As someone who deals with files everyday, I always backup my photos in at least two places - and I recommend my clients do the same!

Start by selecting any image in the gallery.

Once the image is selected, select “Buy Photo” in the top right corner.

From product options, select “Digitals” at $0.00.

After selecting digitals, you have the option to download a single photo or all photos in the gallery. Select “All photos in the gallery". Once selected and highlighted, click “Buy Digitals”

Your shopping cart will show that you are downloading Digitals - All Gallery Photos. Click “Checkout” in the top right corner.

Enter your details. The email you use is the email you want the photo downloads to come to.

This page will show once your order goes through. Time to check your email!

The first email you will receive is a confirmation. The email title will say “Your Order Has Been Placed!” These are not your downloads, but a confirmation.

Give your downloads a few minutes, and check your email for the message “Link to download your digital downloads purchase from Maui Sunset Studios.” The email will look like this.

Use the same email address that the downloads were sent to.

Click the “download” button here. Once clicked, you will have the option to “download again.” On your computer, check your downloads folder for the zip file. This is a compressed file of your photos. To “unzip” the file, simply click on it and the file will expand.

Make sure to back up and save your photos to a cloud service, external hard drive, or usb drive. I recommend multiple back ups just in case a hard drive fails or is lost.

Still having issues? Sometimes antivirus software offers protections that keeps the zip files from coming through. Try downloading your gallery from other browsers such as internet explorer, firefox, or one that you typically don’t use. If this doesn’t work, you can look into your software to see if it allows these types of downloads.

I have a guide for how to store your photos digitally, which lists several options with purchase links to make it easy for you.

If your are still having difficulty with downloading your album, don’t hesitate to reach out to me at kasey@mauisunsetstudios.com.

I hope you love your photos as much as I do!
